At Education4Paws, we offer behaviour consultations both in person around Retford and surrounding areas and online nationwide. We also offer a growing range of online resources to support different training needs, including these blog posts.
Online dog training offers several benefits compared to traditional in-person training methods:
Reduced Stress: Some dogs may feel anxious or stressed in unfamiliar environments, such as a training facility or with me entering the home. Online training allows dogs to learn in a familiar and comfortable setting, reducing stress and promoting a positive learning experience. This in turn will allow you to relax and focus on the consultation.
Convenience: Owners can access training materials and sessions from the comfort of their own homes at any time that suits their schedule. This eliminates the need to travel to a training facility, saving time and effort.
Flexibility: Online dog training programs often offer flexible scheduling options, allowing owners to progress through the training at their own pace. This flexibility is especially beneficial for individuals with busy lifestyles or irregular schedules.
Access to Expertise: Online dog training programs are often created and led by experienced trainers and behaviourists. Owners can gain access to expert advice and guidance without having to find and schedule appointments with local trainers. If you like the look of my services but are too far away, that’s fine, I can still support you and if we decide in person support may be better I can help you find a qualified trainer or behaviourist in your area.
Cost-effective: Online dog training programs can be more affordable than traditional in-person training sessions. Owners typically pay a one-time fee or subscription for access to a comprehensive training program. If you are looking for remote sessions, they can sometimes be cheaper as there is no need to pay additional mileage charges.
When it comes to behaviour consultations, many people prefer in person sessions. Here are a few commonly asked questions that may help you decide as to whether remote consultations are right for you.
Will I receive a different service if I opt for a remote consultation?
Nope! My assessment of your dog is the same. You will receive the same level of follow up support and a written behaviour report with a detailed treatment plan.
But you need to see the behaviour to understand it
I actually don’t. I have been trained to provide a comprehensive assessment of a dog regardless of whether I meet them or not. I have seen such a variety of cases that I don’t need to see the behaviour to understand what is going on. Sometimes I may ask for video footage of certain behaviours or your dog doing everyday things if I feel I need more information. However, often the questions I ask and the information you give me are enough for me to make a good assessment of your dog and draw up a comprehensive training plan.
When might a remote consultation suit me better?
Some of the dogs I am called out to visit have extreme fears of new people. In these situations, for my safety as well as the wellbeing of your dog, it may be more appropriate to conduct the session virtually. Once your dog has learnt some key skills, it may then be possible to have an in person follow up session if you’re local.
